It is essential that air quality is maintained with any live flame as all live flames create carbon dioxide just like human breath. Below we have some recommended room volumes. The room size should include all open areas, if air exchange is present in the room the burner ( flame tray) size can be much larger. Mechanical air exchange is preferable and would mean that the air exchange is constant and this chart below does not apply to rooms that have this system. It is also possible to fit air bricks however we do not give advice on the additional size a brick would create. Please ask air brick manufacturers for this information.
